The New Favorites

The holidays are a great time for acquiring stuff, and if you're lucky stuff can be really good. I thought I would share some of my new favorites.

Sorry if this is dramatic but I don't know how I lived this long without the Dior  glow products. The nail glow has been such a life saver as I am incapable of keeping a manicure past a few days, and this stuff is easy to apply and makes my nails look amazing. The glow balm adjusts to the ph in your lips and becomes the most perfect pink for your pout. Some other things I love include a new night face treatment, amazeballs blow dryer, healing face mask, the most bonkers smelling shampoo, and a crazy albeit somewhat creepy charcoal tooth whitening powder.

You want to know what I hate? Adjusting athletic pants during yoga class. These high-waisted yoga pants literally have you covered. I struggle with earbuds not staying in my ears and knocking them out accidentally with too much arm movement, these bluetooth gripping ear buds will allow my special self to feel more normal. I won't wax poetic about this bracelet, just know that I could... pretty much ALL DAMN DAY. I love it, it does with everything, I want to be buried in it. No explanation needed for the freshy fresh kicks. They make me want to work out. HAHA I can't even type that without laughing.

You may be thinking my home faves are very beverage centric, and you would be correct. We have majorly upgraded our libation game with a few choice pieces. I somehow miraculously won a Nespresso and it is literally the shit. The coffee is sooooo good. Get one. I was the worst at drinking enough water (like perpetually dehydrated to the point where my doctor lectured me), but since I've gotten a soda stream and I have wonderful bubbly water on demand I can't stop drinking water. That's a win in my book. A Rewined candle is not news, but their newest scent Rose is and it's positively heavenly. Buy one. The rest are pretty glasses that make me feel like an adult because 1.) I have stemware and 2.) my shit matches but most importanlty 3.) WE ARE DRINKING ALCOHOL WITH ITS CORRECT AND CORRESPONDING GLASSWARE. Drops mic.

Now it's your turn. What are some of your recently acquired items that you can't imagine living without now? Please do tell!

High Style, Low Cost

pillow // coral // vase // tray table // throw // candlestick // jars

Thanks to places like H&M and Zara you can now get some very stylish home decor at budget prices. A few of my favorite pieces are pictured above. All are super versatile and could fit in with different styles and color palettes. What are some of your favorite places (besides Home Goods) to find great home pieces on a budget? I'd love to know!

Let Me Upgrade You

sunnies // curling wand // painting // night cream
lip balm // wine glass // bag // face brush

I have been in a shopping rut and thus have not made many purchases at all in months. I'm at a transitioning point in my life where I want quality over quantity, and I want my purchases to be an investment in myself and my home. So today's picks are all about upgrading some basics that most of us all already have in some capacity.

First, find the right pair of sunglasses that flatter your face in a classic color and style, you'll thank me. A curling wand may seem a tad frivolous, but your hair is one of the first things people will notice (and who hasn't had awful hair days that ruin everything?). If you're like me you want pretty big loose curls and a crappy cheap curling iron just never quite gets it right. You should feel good about your hair. Real art. Just do it already. Find what you like, buy some, frame it, and enjoy it for years to come. Really good night cream. You don't have to break the bank for this one, but make sure you get a thick cream with anti-aging and moisturizing benefits because let's be honest loves, we're no longer spring chickens. While we are on the topic of skincare, go ahead and purchase that Clarisonic you've been thinking about for 2+ years. Exfoliation is crucial to your skin's appearance not mention it makes your cleanser more efficient. Bite the bullet, add to shopping cart, click checkout, et voila!

Lip balm that actually repairs and treats your lips. Did you know most lip products have ingredients that actually dry your lips out and make you use more of said product? I know it's total crap. Use a good balm and take care of your lips they are one of the first indicators of aging. I wouldn't dare tell you what to drink or how much you should spend on wine, but there comes a point when it's time get yourself a few decent wine glasses. Some for reds, a few for whites, and use them accordingly. Boom, instant civility! Last, but certainly not least. Get yourself a "big girl bag" at least for work/travel. Instantly polish your look with a good quality, sturdy bag that you can proudly take from the office to the nicest restaurant.

What types of things do you upgrade in your life? Would love to hear how other people "invest" in themselves!
